CPP Supports Fees Free Policy

No 2018 course Fees

December 2017

Tertiary education has become more accessible following the announcement by the Government that the first year of fees will be free for students from next year.
Computer Power Plus (CPP) has welcomed the recent announcement by the new Government, which has pledged to cover the fees of first-time students during their first year of study.
CPP General Manager Jay Bocock said this initiative would create a new generation of students.
“We support the policy wholeheartedly and applaud the Government for providing a practical solution to open the door to tertiary education for more people,” Bocock said.
The free fees policy was one of the items that Labour campaigned on strongly during the election this year and it was well-received by students.
“The Government is committed to life-long learning to help better equip our people for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century economy,” Education Minister Chris Hipkins said when the policy was announced.
Students who enrol with CPP’s exclusive Guaranteed Job Offer will be able to study with the knowledge that their first year is free and the second year of their fees will be refunded if they are not placed into full-time employment.
That means students will likely only need to pay for one year’s tuition fees before entering the workforce with a nationally-recognised qualification while CPP places them into a job.
Bocock said CPP’s strong record of placing their graduates into full-time employment, coupled with free fees made for a winning combination.
“We are seeing an increased level of inquiries as people explore their options that are more affordable and provide real job outcomes.
“This initiative will allow students to manage their loan requirements while studying before entering the workforce, rather than looking for a job while being saddled with vast amounts of debt. We have limited places, so students need to enrol before our February 5 and March 12 intakes."
All Computer Power Plus diplomas are eligible for free fees in 2018 but if any students have any questions they can get in touch with CPP via info@cpp.ac.nz or phone 0508 48 48 84
